XPS insulation production method
The raw material for the production of XPS insulation boards is polystyrene, from which a foam is formed in a continuous extrusion process with the help of a blowing agent, which is drawn along the line to the desired thickness. As a result of this production process, a stable cellular structure with a homogeneous honeycomb appearance is obtained. Depending on the application requirements, foam densities between 20 and 50 kg./m³ and compressive strengths of 150 – 700 kPa can be obtained.
Advantages of XPS insulation boards
XPS boards have a closed cell structure that prevents water from passing through and reduces water vapor diffusion. Thanks to their high compressive strength, XPS insulation boards are excellent for laying under screeds and flat roofs, roof terraces, industrial floors, etc.
Application of XPS insulation
The thermal insulation properties of this material, combined with its high compressive strength and water impermeability, make it the ideal solution for thermal insulation of the plinth, under the foundation slab, facades exposed to high humidity, as well as for preventing thermal bridges such as balconies, sides of windows and doors, etc.
