Стъклена минерална вата - изолацията за всеки дом и бюджет!

Glass mineral wool is an insulating material with a variety of applications. It is made from silica sand, one of the most abundant minerals on earth, to which up to 80% recycled glass and flux are added.

The raw material is melted at 1100°C in an electric furnace. The fibers are formed by centrifuging through rotating discs. This process involves spinning the molten glass at high speed, similar to the methodology used in candy making.

The process traps thousands of tiny air pockets between the fibers. It is these air pockets that give glass mineral wool insulation its excellent insulating properties. It is produced in both rolls and slabs. The slabs offer excellent noise control and acoustic properties, as well as thermal insulation properties.

Glass mineral wool insulation is produced in rolls or slabs, with different thermal and mechanical properties to meet the needs of modern construction methods.

Because glass mineral wool insulation has good insulating properties and can be produced at a lower cost than other insulation materials, it is the most widely used insulation material in the construction industry worldwide. In addition to its excellent insulating properties, it is non-flammable and very durable.

Why choose glass mineral wool for insulation?

  • Non-flammable product, can be positioned in rooms exposed to operating temperatures up to 250°C.
  • Glass mineral wool is made up of 80% recyclable materials
  • The plates and rolls are light and easy to install.
  • Does not allow the development of mold and parasites.
  • No health hazards
  • Glass stone wool is not corrosive to metal.
  • Resistant to weathering and water
  • Thermal conductivity values are between 0.025 and 0.044 W/m∙K.*

*Thermal conductivity is defined as the amount of heat (in watts) transferred through a square area of a material of a given thickness (in meters) due to a difference in temperature. The lower the thermal conductivity of a material, the greater the material’s ability to resist heat transfer and therefore the greater the insulation effectiveness.

In general, thermal insulation is based primarily on the very low thermal conductivity of gases. Gases have poor thermal conductivity properties compared to liquids and solids and thus make good insulating materials if they can be trapped (e.g. in a foam-like structure). Air and other gases are generally good insulators. But the main advantage is the lack of convection. Therefore, many insulating materials (e.g. glass wool) function simply by having a large number of gas-filled pockets that prevent large-scale convection.

Application:

  1. Drywall or cavity insulation

Glass mineral wool insulation is flexible, allowing it to be used as a filler for drywall or cavities in a building. With excellent thermal properties and fire resistance, it is a very durable material.

  1. Pipe insulation

Can be used for hot and cold pipe insulation. Glass mineral wool with aluminum foil is an advantage for the piping installation of your building.

  1. Commercial Buildings

Glass mineral wool insulation is easy to install and extremely durable, making it ideal for covering large spaces. Used on walls and ceilings, the rolls and slabs provide sound and thermal insulation indoors.

  1. Suspended Ceilings

Suspended ceilings made of flexible, durable and lightweight glass mineral wool rolls are becoming increasingly popular. With an inert thermosetting resin binder, suspended ceilings can be used effectively for industrial, commercial or domestic purposes.

  1. Industrial Roof Insulation

Industrial roof insulation requires robust materials that are low maintenance and highly functional. Glass mineral wool offers thermodynamic properties and acoustic efficiency, while being easy to apply in any industrial environment. They are commonly used as roof insulation in industries and commercial spaces due to their low cost and ease of acquisition, installation and application.

Glass mineral wool has many other applications: for insulation of external walls, internal partition walls and pre-wall cladding, sandwich panels, floating and raised floors, etc.
