What are ventilated facades?
Ventilated facades or suspended facades are preferred by builders given the wide variety of facade claddings. A ventilated facade is a method of insulating a building, in which a gap is left between the wall, the facade insulation material and the decorative layer, where air circulates freely and thus prevents the formation and absorption of moisture in the insulation material.
Stone wool for ventilated facades
In this type of facade solutions, the thermal insulation material is of extremely great importance. The thermal insulation layer, which is placed between the wall and the facade cladding, protects the wall from freezing, evens out its temperature fluctuations and prevents the appearance of deformations, which are especially unfavorable in tall buildings. Stone wool is the preferred material because, in addition to its good thermal insulation qualities, it creates an effective barrier against noise. Stone wool plates for ventilated facades are covered on one side with a black or yellow fiberglass tissue, which prevents dusting.
