Sound insulation DUCORK Natural

DUCORK Natural is a high-quality soundproofing roll made entirely of cork. Cork is a 100% natural product extracted from the bark of the Cork Oak tree (Quercus Suber). The cork layers peeled from the tree are boiled in water to make them clean and smooth and after stabilization for several days, a quality selection is made. The cork pieces are ground into granules and used as raw material for the production of DUCORK Natural soundproofing wall and floor coverings. Cork is an excellent material for soundproofing due to its physical properties. It is made up of millions of tiny, air-filled cells that act as an acoustic barrier. The cells trap sound waves so they don’t pass through the material, and excess vibrations are broken down and dispersed.

The Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) for cork is 0.7, making it one of the most effective soundproofing materials. This means that 70% of all sound transmitted through the material is absorbed, while only 30% is reflected.

According to industry standards, materials with an NRC rating of 0.4 and above are considered effective soundproofing materials. Cork tops the list with its 0.7, making it one of the best soundproofing materials.
